EPJ Web of Conferences Highlight – EOSAM 2021: EOS Annual Meeting

Over 500 people attended the EOSAM conference and exhibition in Rome and online 13-17 September 2021.

The European Optical Society Annual Meeting, EOSAM, took place onsite in Rome from 13th to 17th September 2021, bringing back the awaited in-person EOS events.

EOSAM is a major international scientific conference covering all aspects of optics and photonics. It is attended by top researchers, key leaders, students, and industry experts.

As an integral conference in the field in Europe, EOSAM has always provided a valuable opportunity for presenting and discussing work, stimulating contact between colleagues, from young researchers to seasoned experts. EOSAM is where research meets industry and education.

EOSAM this year included 14 topical meetings and several special sessions on Silicon Photonics and Guided-Wave Optics; Computational, Adaptive and Freeform Optics; Optical System Design, Tolerancing and Manufacturing; Bio-Medical Optics; Resonant Nanophotonics; Optical Materials; Thermal radiation and energy management; Nonlinear and Quantum Optics; Optics at Nanoscale (ONS), Optical Microsystems (OMS); Waves in Complex Photonic Media; Optofluidics; Ultrafast Optical Technologies and Applications, and Advances and Applications of Optics and Photonics. EOSAM included also special sessions for EU Projects, Early Stage Researchers and Grand Challenges of Photonics.

It was my pleasure to be given the opportunity of being helpful in the scientific production process of EPJD. I enjoyed the experience as a referee for the journal: it was instructive, and its procedures were clear and simple. You can certainly count on my assistance for future similar appointments.
