The effect of the ambient temperature of the 87Rb atoms on the linewidths and amplitudes of the F = 1 → F/ = 0,1,2, F = 2 → F/ = 1,2,3 and crossover resonances of the 87Rb D2 line were measured via π–π polarized pump (probe) laser beams with the saturation absorption spectroscopy. The measurements were performed with high precision and accuracy by using the heterodyne beat measurement technique. The linewidth and amplitude measurements have been done with an inaccuracy of fewer than 1.1 MHz and 0.3 mV, respectively.
