By the use of five temperature model for an optimized laser operational condition of a slow flow CW CO2 laser, we calculated the dependency of the small-signal gain on the discharge volume parameters such as total pressure, current discharge, rotational quantum number, CO2 molecules dissociation level and gas velocity. For the given geometrical as well as thermodynamic balance equations to obtain the gas temperature, the small-signal gain was determined by the numerical solution of the energy density equations in various vibrational modes of CO2 laser.
