Using published atomic data, the populations of the excited states 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 3d9 4l (l= s, p, d, and f) – 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 3d10 of Ni-like W have been calculated for electron densities in the range 1020–1023 cm-3 and electron temperatures in the range 0.5–1 keV. For those transitions with positive population inversion factor, the gain coefficients are determined and plotted against the electron density.
