Chemical effects on the L X-ray production cross-sections (,
,
,
, and
) and Li/L
(
) X-ray intensity ratios for Hg, Pb, and Bi compounds were investigated. The samples were excited by 59.54 keV γ-rays from a 241Am annular radioactive source. L X-rays emitted by samples were counted by a Si(Li) detector with resolution 157 eV at 5.9 keV. We observed chemical effect on the L X-ray production cross-sections and Li/L
X-ray intensity ratios for Hg, Pb and Bi compounds. The experimental values have been compared with the theoretically calculated values of pure elements.
