We demonstrate a new, simple, inexpensive process and systemic control over CdS nanowires using sulfur powders and organic diamines without any catalysts, surfactants, and templates under atmospheric benchtop conditions. By changing the kinds of amines and reaction temperatures can result in control of the shape and size of the nanocrystals, which are moderately monodispered with unique forms.
