We show the equivalence between an ensemble of two-level atoms driven by a squeezed vacuum field, and a harmonic oscillator coupled to a squeezed field. We give the conditions for optimal squeezing transfer from the field to the atomic ensemble. We show that EPR-type correlations are created between the atomic ensemble and the incoming field.
