Some properties of small sodium clusters, comprising up to 45 atoms, are described using a projected spherical single particle basis. The variation of the cluster shape and inner density with the number of atoms is studied. Seemingly chestnut, clusterization and halo like structures are identified for several metallic clusters. Static polarizabilities and plasmon frequencies are calculated and compared with experimental data and with results obtained in different approaches.
