Orientation phenomena for direct electron-ion collisional excitations
in weakly coupled plasmas (
)
are investigated using the semiclassical curved
trajectory method including the close-encounter effects.
The results show that the orientation parameters including the close-encounter effects
obtained by the hyperbolic-orbit trajectory
method have maxima and minima for small impact parameter regions.
