We consider the dynamics of the center-of-mass of an ultracold excited atomic oscillator in the vicinity of a dielectric microsphere. The specific parameters of microsphere (dielectric constant, radius) allowing for atom's quasi orbital motion, with an arbitrary orientation of dipole momentum, are analyzed. We discuss the conditions for which excited atoms like alkalis, alkaline earths or noble gases could form a kind of atom-microsphere exciplex with different orbital momenta.
