EPJ D Special Issue: Physics of Ionized Gases

This Topical Issue of EPJD: Atomic, Molecular, Optical and Plasma Physics is to be published following the 28th Summer School and International Symposium of the Physics of Ionized Gases (SPIG 2016), Belgrade, Serbia, from August 29th to September2nd, 2016.

The SPIG conference was initiated 54 years ago. Nowadays, it comprises a wide range of topics in the fields of: (1) Atomic Collision Processes - Electron and Photon Interactions with Atomic Particles, Heavy Particle Collisions, Swarms and Transport Phenomena; (2) Particle and Laser Beam Interactions with Solids - Atomic Collisions in Solids, Sputtering and Deposition, Laser and Plasma Interaction with Surfaces; (3) Low Temperature Plasmas - Plasma Spectroscopy and other Diagnostic Methods, Gas Discharges, Plasma Applications and Devices; (4) General Plasmas - Fusion Plasmas, Astrophysical Plasmas and Collective Phenomena.

The Topical Issue will be primarily based on the lectures presented during SPIG 2016, but submission is also open to everyone working in the field. All submissions will be subject to the usual peer review standards of the journal. Note that acceptance for the conference SPIG 2016 does not guarantee acceptance for the published Topical Issue.

We invite the contributors to submit their manuscripts before the deadline directly to the EPJD Editorial Office at https://articlestatus.edpsciences.org/is/epjd. If you are a first-time author with EPJD, you will first be invited to register on the same web site. Submissions should be clearly identified as intended for the Topical Issue "Physics of Ionized Gases (SPIG 2016)". Instructions for authors can be found here. Papers will be published continuously and will appear (as soon as accepted) on the journal website. All submitted papers will be refereed according to the usual high standards of the journal. In order to help the authors to prepare their manuscripts, detailed information about the preferred style files for EPJ D can be found here. More general information about EPJ D is available at http://epjd.epj.org/.

Deadline for submission: April 1, 2017

I'm specially delighted in the high quality work of the referees in revising my article which gave me a good impression about the journal and its quality. I will most certainly consider this journal as one of the major options when I need to publish the results of my research.
